The First Sunday after Pascha, the Sunday of Thomas, recalls the confession of faith by the Enlightener of India when our Lord appeared to him and the other disciples one week after the Resurrection, “although the doors were locked.” (John 20:26).

As St. John Chrysostom said, “The Feast of Pascha is a pledge of peace, a fountain of reconciliation, the destruction of death, the devil’s ruin.  Today people have become one with the angels…”
