Religious Education for children AND adults

Each week God With Us Online provides catechetical resources for Eastern Catholic Churches. God With Us Online is a collaborative effort of the Eastern Catholic Bishops of the USA and the Eparchial Directors of Religious Education (ECED). As a catechetical committee of Eastern Catholic directors of religious education God With Us Online serves to form and inform both the child and the adult.

Nothing is so relevant as good, reasonable and reliable knowledge drawing us closer and closer to the Divine Presence.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

The mission of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd reads, “We believe that God and the child have a unique relationship with one another, particularly before the age of six; that growth of this relationship should be assisted by the adult, but is directed by the Spirit of God; that children need their own place to foster the growth of that relationship; and that the child’s spiritual growth is best served through tangible but indirect means.”

“If the children are free, we can see how they have this great desire, not only to eat and play, but for something elevating. Right from the beginning they have this marvelous wish” (Maria Montessori).

This parish supports this form of religious education for children ages 3-11; this method is a Montessori-based biblically and liturgically informed method of religious education.
