August 6th is the Feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord.
Many churches and monasteries in Byzantine tradition will observe the custom of blessing of grapes on the Feast of the Transfiguration. Tomorrow, we will ask God to bless grapes at the end of the 10:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy.
Saint John Chrysostom wrote: “Plowman receives fruit from the earth not so much for his labor and diligence, as out of the goodness of God Who grows this fruit, because neither is he that plants anything, neither he that waters, but God that gives the increase”.
Let us pray for one another!
